While searching for Bible verses to discuss this issue that appears to be simple, I found these 11 descriptions of what love is and I found very beautiful and true, because they are biblical.
How important is love, besides being the greatest commandment is also a fruit of the spirit that we all have to develop in our lives, is the main result of which the Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 5:22 as is first mentioned in this verse ... He teaches us that we must live by the spirit and not flesh ... true, but how difficult is sometimes to live by the spirit ...??
Every day I ask God to teach me what love truly is, just as He loved us and still loves us today. Sometimes we think we know what love is, or think we love people around us, but do not really know until we are confronted with the Word (Bible) and situations that test us as we grow and mature spiritually.
We are living in days where's very important to love one another as never before. We live in days of glory as we can see the hand and the glory of God in our lives, but also in times where, as the Word says; love of many will grow cold.
So I urge you to seek and to ask God to teach us to love, to helps us to love our neighbors and especially ourselves, so take it for what grace by grace we have received and that we can preach the gospel with our lives, our actions and our attitudes ...
Let us love ... love is patient and kind, love does not envy, love does not boast, it is not proud, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails ...
Prayer:
Jesus, we thank you for that love so great that you have had for us, we ask God to forgive our sins and that teaches us to love, teach us to love ourselves so that we can love our neighbor. Thank you Lord ... in Jesus name, Amen.
Erika, my Pastor is doing a series on "LOVE" God's love that is, and I always get very excited when I see that others are teaching or talking about the same topic he is. Because it means that the Holy Spirit is doing something in the Body of Christ and not just at the church I attend. Love (God's love) is something we can never hear enough about.
ReplyDeleteThank you my dear sister!! I am looking forward to the rest of this.
